Developers seek another $72M for Tennessee megasite

Tennessee economic development officials want the state to pour another $72 million into a sprawling site that failed to land a new auto plant planned by a joint venture of Toyota and Mazda. The Jackson Sun reports that the Memphis Regional Megasite has already received about $144 million in state funding.

Audit: Contractor overcharged federal nuke plant by $6.8m

An audit says a contractor overcharged a federal utility by more than $6.8 million from 2010 to 2015 to help finish construction on a nuclear reactor in Tennessee. According to the Chattanooga Times Free Press , the Tennessee Valley Authority Office of Inspector General audit claims Bechtel Power Corp. overcharged for overtime, meal expenses, craft labor costs and an incorrect rate for a veteran construction program at the Watts Bar Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 reactor.

Chawrasia extends lead by 2 at the Hong Kong Open

S.S.P. Chawrasia extended his lead at the Hong Kong Open to two strokes Friday after a 4-under 66 in the second round. Chawrasia, who had led by one at the Hong Kong Golf Club, is at 9-under 131 overall and took as much as a five-stroke lead at one point.

FedEx worker killed in accident at Memphis hub

A FedEx employee was killed early Thursday morning at the shipper's hub at Tennessee's Memphis International Airport while loading and unloading cargo from a Boeing 777, the company has confirmed to ABC News. Police were called to the airport shortly after 12:30 a.m. about an accidental injury, and found the dead female employee under a motorized conveyer belt system, ABC affiliate WATN reported.

Toronto Dominion Bank trimmed its stake in shares of Colliers International Group Inc. by 45.9% during the third quarter, according to the company in its most recent 13F filing with the SEC. The firm owned 12,868 shares of the financial services provider's stock after selling 10,914 shares during the quarter.
